Family Therapy

Family Therapy Philosophy:

Family therapy provides an opportunity to work through issues that have been generationally and systemically ingrained. I believe some of the best growth comes from working with families, as it allows healing on multiple levels. Together we may work on finding a sense of positive homeostasis, breaking negative generational patterns, and creating a working communication between family members.

Approach/Theory:

I take a neutral approach to family therapy to set the framework for a more trusting environment. Families can expect a more hands on and directive approach to therapy in this setting than in individual counseling. I practice family therapy using mainly Internal Family Systems theory (IFS) and Narrative therapy techniques.
